CJBuilt started as a personal project — a YouTube channel by Cody (“CJ”) documenting the ups, downs, and deep dives of building and tuning his own cars. After blowing the motor on his untuned turbo 3SGE BEAMS-swapped IS300, he realized the importance of tuning. He wanted to understand tuning inside and out, and help others do the same.
That’s where the 2000 Honda Civic EX came in. It was affordable, reliable, and didn’t need to be pretty — it just had to run. CJ used it as a testbed to teach himself tuning through hands-on experience, trial and error, and late nights under the hood. A few years later, he’s tuned 30–50 cars, expanded into a full tuning and parts business, and now helps Honda owners get their builds dialed in — without the guesswork or gatekeeping.
